Just back from Creek Nation Casino

Jul

Hey all,
We just got back from Tulsa doing a show at the Creek Nation Casion. Man, what a blast we had playing for everyone there. First off, many thanks for Jason George who really knows how to treat his bands. We all piled in to the unofficial, official EvenFold van and took off north on I-35. It seemed like the trip to Tulsa was short even though it’s about 4 hours from Fort Worth. It was nice to have some time where we can all just sit back and relax on the way to the show. It was an interesting trip to say the least. We’ve been together for a while now and it never surprises me as to what you learn about someone when you spend 4 hours traveling. Ha!

Take a look at a few pics from our trip. Because the venue and show did not allow for cameras, we can only show you these pics of us traveling.

It was a little rainy (giggle) when we got to Tulsa but nothing we couldn’t handle. Creek Nation Casino set us up in a posh hotel down the street. We took some time to relax in our rooms and just wind down from the trip before getting ready to hit the stage. We got started around 9pm and never let up. Man, the evening went by so fast. I guess when you’re having fun…

Thanks to Mike for running sound. Much appreciated.

We may be heading back to Tulsa soon so watch out for us on the road. Visit evenfoldband.com to see the latest show dates and times.

What a great country

Jun

What a great time we had down at Groggy Dawg on Saturday. It was such a blast. There was a little rain that almost put a damper on the night but the storms held off and we rocked the night with everyone’s help. Many thanks to everyone who made it such a great time for us.

On a related note, I wanted to say that this is such a great country we live in. A country that allows us the freedom to play in a band. I was at a grocery story a prior to the show and as I was walking back to the vehicle, I saw 2 buses full of service men and women who were stopping to buy groceries. It hit hard as to how much freedom we have here that we sometimes take for granted. We are so blessed to have the freedom to do the things we like to do. For us, playing in the band, for others, just spending a relaxing weekend with family and friends. I couldn’t help to think that these guys weren’t going to Groggy Dawg’s, weren’t going to spend a nice weekend at home, weren’t going to just enjoy having a day off. No, they were going off to protect our country. Whatever side of the political fence you stand on, you can’t argue that these guys deserve our support. They exemplify the courage and honor that you and I only wish we could. So if you see any of these brave men and women out there somewhere. Take a moment, stop and tell them thanks. You’d be surprised how much it means to them.

See ya soon.

Down Granbury Way

Jun

Hey all,

We’re playing down at Groggy Dawg Grill & Marina this Saturday starting at 9pm. We’re excited to go down to Granbury and play for the folks down there. You can’t go wrong with playing near a lake that’s for sure. It’ll be our first down there but we’re definitely looking forward to it. It’s nice to be able to play different places. It gives us a chance to meet new people and see different towns.

You can find more info about the show on this page:

Froggy Bottoms Show on April 26th, 2008

First…many, many thanks to all you that came out to see us on Saturday. We always appreciate your support each and every show we play.

If you’ve never been to Froggy Bottoms then you’re missing out. With it’s laid back atmosphere and the open wooden deck overlooking the volleyball court, Froggy’s is one cool place. We took the stage around 9:30 and from the beginning chord to the very last one, we had a blast. It was the first time out for us at Froggy Bottoms but we felt so at home playing there that the entire evening was a blast. It seemed like the storms were going to roll in and rain on our parade (pun intended) but they stayed away long enough for us to rock and roll on into the night. There were people playing out on the volleyball court as well as others hanging out on the wooden deck throughout the night as we played. I think I remember at one point, people were digging our version of Charlie Daniels’ “Drinking My Baby Goodbye”. That song always seems to get people going. Of course when Jim does his “Shape I’m In” that’s pretty cool too. I have the best seat in the house and get to see all the action.

The night seemed to go by so fast that before we knew it we were playing our last song. It was time to wind down with our version of “Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way” by Waylon. It’s a favorite song of the band and we love to play it for everyone. We hope everyone had a good time Saturday night.
